Capacitas staff will be presenting at the UKCMG 2011 Annual Conference at the Oxford Belfry on 16th and 17th May. The presentations are on the following:
- Factors to consider when selecting new Performance & Capacity tools, session 1S2a. Performance and capacity tool evaluation processes executed in IS organisations often result in inappropriate choices and investments. In many cases the underlying reasons for this are innocent. However basic considerations in the planning and execution of evaluation would mitigate against the risk of a failed selection process. The presentation offers a selection of thoughts and ideas on how to improve the selection process to increase the likelihood success.
- Capacity Management Improvement - From Assessment to Benefits, session 1C5. This presentation covers a project to improve a customer's capacity management capability. We begin with the initial assessment and look at how the improvements were planned, base lined and implemented. An audit was undertaken after implementation to assess the results and process KPIs were used to determine whether there were any tangible benefits.
- Positioning Performance Testing to Cut Costs of Cloud Computing, session 1P5. Cloud computing solves all your capacity problems. Or does it? Research indicates that application performance is now the greatest concern of organisations looking at cloud computing. And also in the cloud computing world resource usage has a very real link to financial cost. Performance testing and modelling can be used to directly forecast costs and ensure that appropriate capacity is in place. This presentation looks at the very real need for performance testing and capacity planning of cloud based services, using a real case study where potential costs were cut by 95%.
Capacitas are Gold Sponsors of the conference and will be exhibiting. Please come along to stand 3 to meet our staff and discuss our services.
