When it comes to business intelligence and data visualization tools, there are many factors to consider before choosing the right one for the job. For instance, if you need a tool that integrates well with Microsoft products, has an intuitive user interface and is great for data cleaning, analysis and exploration, Microsoft PowerBI is king.

One of our clients required a tool that was easy to use, cost-effective and that would integrate well with AWS. QuickSight easily integrates with other AWS services such as Amazon Redshift, Amazon RDS, and Amazon S3, and is therefore a good fit for organizations that are already using other AWS products. In our case, it was the data that needed to be pulled out of Amazon S3, so QuickSight was therefore the right choice.
2. Cost-effectiveness
QuickSight has a pay-per-session pricing model, which means you only pay for the sessions you use, and there are no upfront costs or long-term commitments. No concerns about over consuming.
3. Collaboration
Our client needed something that represented “plug and play” and that would allow them to easily access the dashboard and share it with others. QuickSight, again, was right on the money here as it allows for easy collaboration and sharing of insights within organizations. You can easily share visualizations and dashboards with other users and give them the ability to interact with the data and create their own views.
4. Speed
QuickSight is designed to be fast, even when working with large datasets. With its in-memory calculation engine and the ability to connect to different data sources, you can quickly gain insights and make data-driven decisions.
The decision of what business intelligence and visualization tool to use should always come down to the specifics of the client's needs. And while Amazon Quicksight might not be able to rival PowerBI and Tableau, in terms of user experience, data connectivity or data cleaning and analysis- it is a choice worth considering when dealing with organizations already utilizing other AWS products.
